This yarn club is sold out. Click here to see the new bnk 2014 knitspot yarn club!

welcome to the bare naked knitspot club...

description:
in this club we will knit with a variety of fibers in their natural, undyed state to learn about and appreciate the unique characteristics of each. yarns will include a range of animal and/or vegetable fibers (sheep, goat, camelids, yak, silk, and cotton are some possibilities) in shades from cream to khaki to gray to chocolate—"sheepy" yarns if you will. some will be soft, some will be lustrous, some will have stout, sturdy character that softens over time with long use (like vintage blue jeans). yarn weights will vary; projects will focus on accessories, scarves, and shawls (possibly including a sock or baby item) that feature lace and openwork stitch patterns.

while the nature of working with an undyed product doesn't allow for exclusivity per se, we will focus on obtaining unique, artisanal yarns that are typically available only in small runs or straight from the producer and are not yarn shop staples.

we will continue to offer our popular eBook only option as well as the extra yarn option (while supplies last).

there will be one yarn and color each month; substitutions will not be possible.

patterns, designer notes, and photographs will continue to be delivered monthly in chapter format, each one spotlighting the producer of the month with a lesson about the type of yarn/fiber included, along with the project pattern. the full set plus cover file may be compiled into a full book at the end.

delivery:
the club will begin shipping in february 2012, one shipment per month through july, 2012 (a total of 6 yarn shipments); as with the current club, we will aim for shipments to arrive mid-month. yarn shipments will be posted on the 7th (international) and the 15th (USA) unless those days fall on a weekend or holiday.

eBook will continue to be delivered as digital downloads through the knitspot club website on the 17th of each month.

all packages will be shipped USPS first class mail; international shipped in a VAT-friendly manner. extra yarn shipped in a separate package when necessary.

pricing:
pricing for the full membership options will remain the same as for the FiFC club. you will notice a very small increase in all of the extra yarn options; this is due to the fact that we made an error in calculating the postage for them in the FiFC club, which we absorbed, but have now corrected.

signups:
a pre-order signup period for all current club members (including pattern-only) will open november 17th and every member who is enrolled at that time will be notified by email on that day, when the november FiFC chapter is delivered. the email will include a non-transferable code for a members only 5% discount on the purchase of any bare naked membership. the discount code will expire when signups open to the general public on november 25. FiFC memberships purchased after november 17 will not be eligible for this discount.

signups will open to the general public on friday, november 25th and full memberships will close when all spots are filled. eBook only option will remain open until the end of July, 2012.

memberships must be prepaid in full by credit card or Paypal. at this time we are not accepting check payments for club memberships. for the time being, we must continue selling the club without a payment option; we just don't have the staffing required to do billing and payments, which can get complicated for a large club. plus, we need to order and pay for all of our yarn in advance; thus we need a skein count that stays the same throughout.

more info to come soon!!
we expect to have final details posted on the club website by november 10th. we will send out a general email to our entire customer base when the information becomes available.

if your package does not arrive within 21 days of the ship date, we will investigate, help locate it, and/or resend if necessary.

refund policy:
knitspot will issue a full refund up to february 1st, providing the spot can be filled from the waiting list. all refunds/exchanges will be subject to a processing fee of $50. refunds will not be issued after the club shipments begin on february 7, 2011.

thanks so much and happy clubbing!
