School Sock

This top-down sock in four sizes features a knit/purl motif which extends down the leg and over the top of the foot, creating a fabric which resembles a “school plaid”.
Sock is easily converted to toe-up construction, as the pattern is vertically reversible and may be resized by using different yarn weights or needles.

Suggested Yarns: Araucania Ranco, Briar Rose Grandma’s Blessing or Grace, Fearless Fibers Classic Merino or Superwash Sock, Wooly Wonka Merino or BFL Sock, Woolen Rabbit Lambswool or Merino Sock, Socks that Rock Light, Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock, Dream in Color Smooshy or any sock yarn which has approximately 425 yards to 4 ounces.

Finished Size:
finished sock circumference = 6.25(7.5, 8.75, 10) inches
S(M, L, XL), to fit feet measuring up to 7.5(8.5, 10, 11) inches around

Yarn requirements: 350(400, 450, 500) yds

Gauge: 32 sts and 48 rows = 4” in stockinette

Needles: DPNs sizes US1 (2.25mm), or size to obtain gauge on smaller needles.
