Pine Cones

A toe-up sock with the nubby texture and color of fir cones, highlighted at the side of the foot and leg by an openwork motif of pine cones hanging on branches.
Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size.

Suggested Yarns: Hazel Knits Artisan Sock, Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock® Lightweight, Briar Rose Grandma’s Blessing, The Woolen Rabbit Harmony Sock, Knitting Notions Classic Merino Supersock, or any springy, high-twist sock yarn.

Finished Size: 7(8, 9, 10) inches in circumference to fit feet measuring up to 8(9, 10, 11) inches around

Yarn requirements: 250(300, 350, 400) yards

Gauge: 28 sts and 44 rows = 4 inches in stockinette
Note: row gauge is important in this pattern for proper placement of foot pattern

Needles: DPNs size US1.5 (2.5 mm) or size to obtain correct gauge
