Obstacles Scarf or Stole

A knitting pattern of a generous scarf/shawl, the project is knit up quickly into a lightweight, warm garment meant to be wrapped several times, replacing the need for a bulky jacket.

Suggested Yarns: Fearless Fibers DK cashmere or Merino Sport, Classic Elite Blithe or Miracle, Briar Rose Sea Pearl or Legend, Joseph Galler Sahara, Classic Alpaca, Indiecita Baby Alpaca DK, Knit Picks Elegance, or any smooth DK or fingering yarn which has a relaxed hand and drape.

Finished Size: (blocked): Scarf: 12” W X 64” L, Shawl: 19” W X 84” L

Yarn requirements: Scarf: 450 yards, Shawl: 900 yards

Gauge: 16 sts and 24 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch (unblocked)

Needles: Size US8 (5mm) or size to obtain correct gauge, needles one size smaller than the body needles will be needed for garter edging.
