Matterhorn Mitts, Hat, and Scarf

A quick to knit multi-sized set featuring a tweed texture with universal appeal. Fingerless mitts have a sculpted thumb gusset; hat has a deep turned-back brim to close out the cold. A great last-minute gift project which travels well and knits up in a flash.
Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size.

Suggested Yarns: Briar Rose Charity, Pilgrim, or Fourth of July , Shalimar Honey Worsted, Dye Dreams Celestial, Zen Yarn Garden Pelusa, Beaverslide Worsted, Morehouse Merino Worsted, Cascade 220 Tweed or Ecological Wool, or any soft worsted weight yarn that knits to the pattern gauge.

mitts: 5.75(6.5, 7.25, 8)” in circumference to fit hands up to 6.75(7.5, 8.25, 9)” around palm
hat: 16(17.5, 19, 21) to fit heads measuring up to 19(20.5, 22, 24)
scarf: 6.5 inches W x 60 inches L

mitts: 100(120, 140, 160) yards
hat: 120(160, 200, 240) yards
scarf: 300 yards

Gauge:
mitts: 22 sts and 30 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on size 4 (3.5 mm) needles
hat: 20 sts and 28 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on size 5 (3.75 mm) needles
scarf: 18 sts and 26 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on size 8 (5.0 mm) needles
