A rectangle shawl in two sizes petite(tall) with allover floral and fern patterns with a horizontal insect motif insert. Stole is begun with a provisional cast-on at center back and worked down to the hem, with an applied (knitted on) lace edging at the bottom hem.
Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in shawl size.
Suggested Yarns:
Knitting Notions Classic Merino Lace, Fearless Fibers Laceweight Merino, Wooly Wonka Fibers Merino Laceweight, Woolen Rabbit Whisper Merino Lace, Kaalund Classic Two, Blue Moon Fiber Arts Laci, or any springy, laceweight yarn with 175-210 yards per ounce.
Finished Size:
22(25)” W x 74(84)” L (stretched and blocked)
Yarn Requirements:
1200(1500) yards / 1080(1350 mts) of laceweight yarn that has 175-210 yards per ounce
Gauge:
24 sts and 32 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch (unblocked)
Needles:
size 6US (4.0 mm) 24” circular needles, or size to obtain correct gauge
size 4US (3.5 mm) 24” circular needle for edging (or two sizes smaller than body needle)
