here is an appealingly different yarn and knitting club, in which we explore and knit a variety of yarns in their natural, undyed state. through the knitting patterns offered and our clubhouse discussion threads, we'll learn to appreciate the unique characteristics each yarn brings to a knitspot design. take a look at last year's barenaked collection

yarns will include a range of animal and/or vegetable fibers (sheep, goat, camelids, yak, silk, and cotton are some possibilities) in natural shades from cream to khaki to gray to chocolate—as close to the farm as knitting yarns can get. some yarns will be soft, some will be lustrous, some will have stout, sturdy character that softens over time with long use (like vintage blue jeans). each month's yarn and pattern is a surprise; yarn weights will vary and designs will focus on knitted accessories, scarves, shawls, and home items that feature fun to knit stitch patterns and/or interesting shaping.

there are two levels of club membership: our yarn memberships include six monthly installments of yarn and surprise goodies shipped right to your door, plus the barenaked digital eBook downloads; yarn members may also purchase an extra yarn option to double (or triple) their yarn order, which allows for knitting more options or larger sizes of the monthly design. we will continue to offer our popular eBook (pattern-only) option as well.

while the nature of working with undyed knitting yarn doesn't allow for complete exclusivity, we make every effort to obtain unique, artisanal yarns that are typically available only in small runs or straight from the producer and are not yarn shop staples. several of our club yarns each year are custom spun exclusively for our barenaked knitpspot club and are available only as long as supplies last.

there will be one yarn and color each month; substitutions will not be possible, though trading within our membership is allowed. in the event that a yarn selection is shipped in more than one color, the shade selection received by each member will be randomized.

knitting patterns, designer notes, and beautiful photography will continue to be delivered monthly in chapter format, each one spotlighting the producer of the month with a lesson about the type of yarn and fiber included, along with the project pattern. the full set plus cover file may be compiled into a full book at the end.

delivery:
the barenaked yarn club will begin shipping in february 2013, one shipment per month through july, 2013—a total of six (6) yarn and knitting pattern shipments. as with the current yarn club, we will aim for shipments to arrive mid-month. yarn shipments will be posted on the 7th (international) and the 14th (USA) unless those days fall on a weekend or holiday.

the eBook chapters containing a knitting pattern for each monthly yarn will continue to be delivered as digital downloads through the knitspot club website and the knitspot ravelry pattern shop on the 17th of each month.

all yarn club packages will be shipped USPS first class mail; international shipped in a VAT-friendly manner. extra yarn will be shipped in a separate package when necessary.

pricing:
pricing for the barenaked knitspot yarn club will remain the same as for the current club; please see the signup page for details. gift memberships may be arranged by emailing david; he will arrange billing and a coupon code for gifting a yarn club or eBook to a third party.

signups:
a pre-order signup period for all current club members (including eBook members) will open november 17th, 2012 and every member who is enrolled at that time will be notified by email on that day, when the november FIFC chapter is delivered. from november 17 through november 22nd, current members will receive a 5% discount on any level of a barenaked membership (excluding shipping and tax).

signups for the barenaked yarn club will open to the general public on friday, november 23rd and will close when all spots are filled. the eBook only option will be available ongoing.

payment:
yarn club memberships must be prepaid in full by credit card or Paypal. at this time we are not accepting check payments for club memberships. for the time being, we must continue selling the club without a payment option.

change of address:
members are responsible for updating their profiles, a change in billing or shipping address, or correction to existing address information in our files.

lost package:
if your package does not arrive within 21 days of the ship date, we will investigate, help locate it, and/or resend if necessary.

refund policy:
knitspot will issue a full refund up to february 1st, providing the spot can be filled from the waiting list. all refunds/exchanges will be subject to a processing fee of $50. refunds will not be issued after the club shipments begin on february 7, 2013.
